Curriculum
Language Arts
Los Altos Elementary offers students an integrated program with Science, Social Studies, Arts and Technology embedded within our lessons. The following publishers are used in our classroom to support our students along with our Common Core based units.

- Maravillas (Spanish Program)
Mathematics
Los Altos Tigers work through Common Core state standards using our State adopted and bridge programs. Starting this school year, grades Kinder through Fifth will be using the following materials.
- HSP GO Math! (English and Spanish Program)
Science
TWIG science in English and Spanish.
Social Studies
Our students use the following curriculum along with integrated NPDL units for teaching of Social Studies.
- Impact (English Program)
- Impacto (Spanish Program)
SEL (SOcio-Emotional Growth Curriculum)
New materials are in the process of being adopted. Currently, teachers use Second Steps and additional supports provided by the district.
TELA/VAPA Integration
Our students engage in Art experiences throughout the instructional day. This includes exposure to cultural from Latin America and the Spanish speaking world along with global and social impact concerns related to our work with TELA (Teaching English Learners through the Arts) grant and NPDL (New Pedagogies for Deep Learning).
Intervention
If your child is struggling, we do offer ways to assist children both academically and emotionally. We use intervention protocols to identify, support, and evaluate student success in our programs. Students are screened throughout the year by teachers and staff for behavior and academics.
Social Studies and Science
Social Studies and Science is integrated within the school day. We implement Impact/Impacto from McGraw-Hill. NGSS adoption process currently in process.
